What is eMAP?
Media Access and Production (eMAP) provides multimedia solutions such as video, web, multimedia equipment, and emerging technologies to the University of Saskatchewan. As an academic support unit, our success is directly linked to the success of our campus partners who engage in academics, research, advancement, administration, and business. Multimedia can enhance the work of our partners, helping them achieve the level of pre-eminence that this institution is committed to. eMAP provides multimedia expertise in several service areas, which are described below.
Multimedia Productions
Media Production Services provides video and audio facilities and instructional resources for faculty, staff, and students. We have the creative expertise and resources to assist you in creating media content to meet your needs for teaching, research, and communication.
Our media services include lecture capture, event recording, press conferences, live video streaming, videoconferencing, live satellite delivery of credit classes, and media support for special events. We consistently research new and emerging trends so that we are able to provide consultation on which multimedia technologies are best suited to solve particular client needs.
New Media
The New Media Group is a skilled and experienced team of professionals offering quality service and innovation for websites, mobile, and online learning systems. New Media is committed to enhancing the user experience by creating visually striking websites with easy to navigate menu structures; we believe that ease of use is as important as design. As well, New Media, in conjunction with our production unit, can produce interactive media such as animations and videos that will help to enhance websites, mobile applications and learning management systems (LMS).
Equipment Services
Equipment Services handles equipment booking, installation, training, and consultation to ensure all academic areas of campus are equipped and ready to support teaching, learning, and research activities. We also make recommendations for future campus development to guarantee all equipment meets the emerging needs of academic and administrative users. Equipment Services strives to ensure that equipment is up-to-date and users are equipped with knowledge of best practices.
Media Store
The Media Store provides media equipment consultation, supplier research, and procurement.
Media Sales & Copyright
Media Sales & Copyright sells University productions, provides copyright clearance for distance education and online courses, and oversees the distribution of media materials to the students enrolled in the courses. We also handle general copyright inquiries, provide faculty and students with information and resources regarding copyright issues, and manage the University's public performance licenses for the use of feature films on campus.
